Rabbit Information to help you understand the eccentricities of your furry friend better

There are many pet owners who don’t have access to or are clueless about rabbit information and who are puzzled beyond their wits by their bunny behavior. Rabbits use strange methods to communicate with their pet owners. In this article I will impart some valuable rabbit information which will help you to understand your furry friend better and I can guarantee that you will be rolling on your sides while going through this rabbit information guide.

# 1

When a rabbit lowers its head on the ground it may be seeking your attention and petting, pampering, stroking, TLC and other such demonstrations of affection or may be it is surrendering to you and appealing to you not to hurt it. Crouching behavior with head lowered is often a sign of surrender and submission.

# 2

A rabbit will often binky to express its joy. Binking means jumping high into the air, thrashing out its leg and head and twisting around and then rolling back with a thud often into a piece of furniture or into the wall! Binky is equivalent to madcap mayhem.

# 3

It is during the day that rabbits sleep and remain awake at night or in the morning. Because they keep their eyes open while sleeping it is difficult to detect when they are asleep. However there is one tell tale sign – wiggling of the nose will stop. Some other rabbits however completely close their eyes and it almost seems as if they are dead whereas they are actually asleep! Many people mistake sleeping rabbits for dead rabbits.

# 4

Beware of rabbit’s thumping for it signals grave danger like a cat on the prowl outside the door or may be a dog! Because rabbits don’t exercise their vocal chords they have to communicate imminent danger or displeasure or odd observations with thumping their hind feet, either one foot or both feet. Rabbits don’t like being touched and hugged and mollycoddled and they will express their dissatisfaction through thumping.

# 5

Sitting up on their hind feet is something rabbits will indulge in when they are trying to reach out to the tempting treat you are holding out or when they hear something odd and try to make it out or to have a better view of everything around them. Usually thumping is preceded by sitting up on hind legs.

# 6

Rabbits can grunt when they are about to attack or are cornered or play with toilet rolls. They also grunt softly to express their feelings for their owner while running round you in circles which is referred to as dance of love.

# 7

As said earlier, rabbits are not vocal by nature. So if a rabbit squeals it shows that the rabbit is shivering in pain or fear and has cried out in terror. If a rabbit that has never been touched by a human being is picked up it will squeal in terrible fright.
