Women the world over go to extreme lengths to take care of their facial skins and appear youthful and glowing with radiance. They don’t think twice about splurging tons of money on newer and fancier cosmetics and lotions and potions, creams and gels, facials and massages and God knows what else. The beauty rituals that women follow to preserve their looks have given birth to a thousand myths and long standing jokes as found in Congreve’s The Way of the World and Pope’s The Rape of the Lock.

But sadly these very same women, who are so beauty conscious, are extremely negligent when it comes to taking care of the rest of their bodies. It looks odd and breaks the favorable impression when a good looking woman appears with cracked heels and chipped nails. It is very important to groom each and every part of your body along with your face.

Body skin care isn’t as difficult as you think. It is very simple really. All you need to do is to clean your whole body regularly while taking a bath. You can use a shower gel/cream and a loofah to scrub yourself clean or apply bath salt to slough away the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Aromatherapy products will soothe your senses and relax you further.

Clean your nails, fingers and toes and heels with a used old toothbrush. Then apply a good quality moisturizer all over your body and concentrate on rough spots like elbows, hands and feet, ankles, knees etc. Shea butter and coco butter are both excellent moisturizers for the skin on the body and will keep your body perfumed pleasantly all day.

Twice a month visit a salon or spa to indulge your hands and legs through a special manicure and pedicure session. It would be better if you could increase the frequency to once a week but most women run short of time.

Along with manicure and pedicure which will groom your hands and feet respectively and make them appear squeaky clean, attractive and colorful(thanks to the nail varnish) and prevent chipped nails or shapeless nails, cracked or chapped or dry whitish skin, you should also opt for an occasional relaxing foot massage.

You stand and run on your feet the whole day and subject it to torture by wearing stilettos and roman sandal heels and therefore your feet deserve this pampering.

At times, when you are contemplating wearing a backless gown you should definitely go in for a back facial which will make your back appear smooth, glowing, silky and sexy, making men go weak in the knees.

Once a month you should definitely visit a spa and book yourself for a relaxing and rejuvenating whole body massage or body wrap which will not only sooth your senses and instill calm and tranquility in your mind and soul, but also detoxify your body and mind and improve the appearance and quality and texture of your skin. It will also drive away joint pain, insomnia, PMS, back ache, arthritis, headaches, stress, strain, anxiety, worry etc.

You can choose from therapeutic massages and body wraps like shirodhara, abhyangam, uptan, Keralian Ayurvedic massage, Swedish massage, chocolate body wrap, mud wrap, algae or shea butter or sea weed body wrap, hot stone therapy, Balinese borreh, Thai massage, aromatherapy massage , whole body oil massage, herbal massage etc.
